Professional Sumo recognizes exactly 82 winning techniques known as Kimarite, categorized into seven distinct groups that range from basic pushing maneuvers to complex throws and leg trips. In addition to these 82 techniques, there are 5 non-technique conditions (Hiseogi) that determine a victory.
The techniques are categorized into groups such as Kihonwaza (Basic), Nage-waza (Throwing), and Kake-waza (Leg tripping).

Backward force down. Leaning one's weight onto the opponent to force them down.
Frontal push out. Pushing the opponent out of the ring with hands against his body (without holding belt).
Frontal push down. Pushing the opponent down while pushing him out.
Frontal thrust out. Thrusting the opponent out with a series of hand shoves.
Frontal thrust down. Thrusting the opponent down with a shove.
Frontal force out. Driving the opponent backward out of the ring while holding his belt.
Frontal crush out. Forcing the opponent out and down while holding his belt.
One-armed shoulder throw. Throwing the opponent over the shoulder by one arm.
Hooking inner thigh throw. Hooking the leg and throwing.
Hip throw. Throwing the opponent over the hip.
Armlock throw. Locking the opponent's arm and throwing them.
Headlock throw. Throwing the opponent by the neck.
Simultaneous leg trip/throw. Sweeping the leg while throwing.
Pulling underarm throw. Dragging the opponent forward with an underarm grip.
Underarm throw. Throwing the opponent by pulling the underarm grip.
Beltless arm throw. Scooping the armpit to throw without the belt.
Lifting throw. Lifting the opponent by the belt and throwing them.
Pulling overarm throw. Dragging the opponent forward with an overarm grip.
Overarm throw. Throwing the opponent by pulling the overarm grip.
Inner thigh throw. Lifting the opponent's leg with the inner thigh.
Leg pick. Grabbing the opponent's leg and lifting it to throw them.
Pulling heel hook. Tripping the opponent by hooking their heel.
Hooking backward counter throw. Wrapping a leg around the opponent's leg and falling backward.
Minor inner foot sweep. Kicking the inside of the opponent's foot to sweep.
Pulling inside ankle sweep. Kicking the opponent's ankle from the inside at the tachiai.
Twisting backward knee trip. Twisting the opponent over the knee.
Over thigh scooping body drop. Scooping the opponent's thigh to throw them.
Ankle pick. Grabbing the opponent's ankle (or toes) to trip them.
Triple attack force out. Attacking the legs and chest simultaneously.
Ankle kicking twist down. Kicking the opponent's ankle from the outside.
Major thigh scoop. Lifting the opponent's thigh high to throw them.
Outer leg trip. Hooking the opponent's leg from the outside.
Over thigh scooping body drop. Similar to Komatasukui but from the outside.
Rear foot sweep. Sweeping the opponent's foot from behind.
Ankle pick. Grabbing the opponent's ankle to throw.
Toes pick. Pulling the opponent's toes to off-balance them.
Inner leg trip. Hooking the opponent's leg from the inside.
Thigh grabbing push down. Grabbing the thigh and pushing the body down.
Fisherman's throw. Throwing the opponent with both arms like casting a net.
Clasped hand twist down. Twisting the opponent's head with clasped hands.
Backward belt throw. Throwing the opponent over the back while holding the belt.
Two-handed arm twist down. Twisting the opponent's arm with both hands.
Under-shoulder swing down. Slipping the shoulder and pulling the opponent down.
Arm locking twist down. Twisting the opponent's arm to force them down.
Head twisting throw. Twisting the neck to throw.
Twist down. Twisting the opponent's body to throw without a belt grip.
Backward twisting underarm throw. A rare twisting throw.

Backward body drop. Diving under and flipping backward.
Hooking backward body drop. Hooking a leg and falling backward.
Bell hammer drop. Carrying the opponent and dropping them backward.
Outer reverse backward body drop. Grabbing the arm and thigh to drop backward.
Reverse backward body drop. Grabbing the arm and leg to drop backward.
Underarm forward body drop. Shifting under the arm to drop backward.
Slap down. Slapping the opponent's shoulder/back to force them down.
Hand pull down. Pulling the opponent's arm or body down.
Arm grabbing force out. Grabbing the arm and pulling out.
Arm barring force out. Barring the arms and pushing out.
Arm barring force down. Barring the arms and forcing down.
Rear push out. Pushing the opponent out from behind.
Rear leg trip. Tripping the opponent from behind.
Rear throw down. Throwing the opponent from behind.
Rear push down. Pushing the opponent down from behind.
Rear lift out. Lifting the opponent out from behind.
Rear lift down. Lifting the opponent down from behind.
Head chop down. Chopping the neck to force down.

Spinning throw. Pivoting at the edge to throw.
Arm barring force out (upper arm). Pushing out with arm leverage.
Pulling body slam. Pulling and slamming the opponent.
Stepping out. The opponent accidentally steps out.
Over-stepping. The opponent steps out while attacking.
Inadvertent collapse. The opponent falls on their own.
Knee touch. The opponent touches their knee down.
Hand touch. The opponent touches their hand down.
