About SUMO IS LIFE

This project is the culmination of a lifelong obsession. It began with an Australian man stumbling upon a night broadcast of the Grand Sumo Tournament on NHK. Captivated by the dignity, the ritual, and the sheer power of the Rikishi, he fell in love with the sport.

From watching bouts on a tiny phone screen during commutes to dropping all his plans to catch live Makuuchi division matches, his passion grew. "Sumo Is Life" was born from a desire to combine this reverence for the sport with a love for modern technology.

It is created by one person (and some powerful machinery) to help others appreciate the beauty behind the collision.
